A Romanian has been named as CEO of international brand Avon starting January 2020.
As CEO of Avon International, 45-year-old Angela Cretu will be responsible for the business outside of Latin America and for the oversight of the Avon brand globally. She will have her main office in London.
Angela Crețu has graduated the Cybernetic Faculty within the Economic Studies Academy in Bucharest in 1997, then she took some post-graduate studies at the London Business School (2006-2007).
During October 2016 until January 2020, Angela Cretu was Avon Group Vice President Central Europe, with full P&L and strategic responsibility for a cluster of 19 countries. Her role then was to lead and connect people, processes and resources to maximize the value added to our customers, representatives, associates and shareholders.
“A native of Romania, Ms. Cretu has over 20 years of experience at Avon in various senior executive roles, most recently as Group Vice President and General Manager, Central Europe, responsible for 18 countries. Before that she successfully led the Eastern Europe and Africa/Middle East clusters and Global roles. She has a passion for Avon, its employees, Representatives and customers. On top of her recognized management skills, international perspective and industry experience, she has been deeply involved in Avon’s drive for women’s economic empowerment, all of which will be major assets to take Avon and Natura forward,” informed in a press release Natura &Co, the Brazilian group who took over Avon group in My 2019, in a USD 2 billion transaction.
