Alcatel-Lucent chose Timisoara to invest EUR 2 M in a Global Network Operation Center
French telecom equipment provider Alcatel-Lucent has opened on Tuesday a Global Network Operation Center in Timisoara, western Romania, following an investment of over EUR 2 million, a press release informs.
Here, over 550 employees will administer 20 of the company’s customers worldwide.
The center has an area of 5,200 square meters and the investment targets the operational and IT infrastructures, with the highest operating standards in the telecommunications industry, providing appropriate and flexible space for this type of activity.
In the last three months, 65 people have joined this team, 75 other positions are currently open due to contracts signed by the company lately. Currently, the requested profiles are: service analysts, service engineers, fulfillment engineers, database analysts, service performance engineers, technical support engineers, team managers and service operations managers.
In order to technical training of future professionals for the center, five years ago Alcatel-Lucent introduced a specialized class in the curriculum of Polytechnic University of Timisoara.
