Almost 205,000 used cars registered at end-October, up by 13 pc
Second-hand car registrations in Romania recorded an increase of 12.79 percent in the first ten months of the year, to 204,257 units, compared to the same period in 2014, when the number stood at 181,098 units, according to the statistics of the Directorate for Driving License and Vehicle Registration (DRPCIV).
In October, 24,745 used cars were registered, by 14.75 percent more against October last year, when 21,565 units were registered.
Romanians preferred second-hand brand remains Volkswagen – 58,674 units registered from January to October 2015, up by 14.54 percent over the same period in 2014, despite the emissions scandal.
Other preferences: Opel (35,226 units + 8.41 percent), Ford (23,739 units, + 11.29 percent), BMW (14,562 units, + 23.08 percent), Audi (14,246 units, + 19.77 percent), Skoda (9,510 units, +17.68 percent), Renault (8,270 units, + 13.16 percent), Mercedes-Benz (7,602 units, + 11.03 percent) and Fiat (4,499 units, -14.58 percent).
DRPCIV official data reveal that at the end of 2014, Romania’s car fleet had reached 6,270,615 units, up by 4.77 percent compared to the same period in 2013 when there were 5.98 million units.
Overall, 3.401 million Romanians preferred diesel cars and 2.539 million preferred the petrol cars.
