Catalin Marinescu on Friday resigned from the position of president of the National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM), the authority that is managing the telecom market in Romania.
According to sources for local media, Marinescu is to take over a position in the telecom field in an international institution.
Catalin Marinescu has worked in the telecom sector since 1990, both for Romtelecom or in public institutions.
He was had of the General Inspectorate for Communications and Information Technology during 2005 and 2007, a body that merged later on with the National Authority for Regulation in Communications and became ANCOM in 2009.
Marinescu was manager of the IT hub of the Bucharest City Council.
Catalin Marinescu is a telecom engineer, graduate of the Electronics and Telecommunications Faculty of the Polytechnic University of Bucharest.
