ArcelorMittal Galati, EUR 6 M investment to upgrade the galva line

ArcelorMittal, world’s leading steel and mining company, invests EUR 6 million in its Galati unit, for upgrading the Galva Line, a press release informs.

“This investment pack allows us to adapt ourselves to the new requirements of the customers in terms of quality (surface, levelness, aspect) and bringing a better reliability to the line, safer operations and a bigger production volume”, said Bruno Ribo, Chief Executive Officer of ArcelorMittal Galati, adding: “Also, with the new upgrades, the Galva Line is now capable to deliver excellent products for the new Organic Coating Line”.

The investment consisted in a pack of technical upgrades in all the sectors of the line, followed by technical corrections implemented by maintenance specialists.

In March also, ArcelorMittal Galati commissioned and finalized the ramp up the new Hot Leveller which serves Heavy Plate Mill no. 2, after an EUR 12.5 million investment.
