Part of the former management of state airline Romavia, into bankruptcy since 2014, launched a new air operator specialized in charter flights – Aviro Air. The company is now operational and has taken over most of Romavia’s employees, News.ro. informs on Wednesday.
Aurel Biţianu, ex-director within Romavia, now is General Manager of Aviro Air and new company’s majority shareholder. The other shareholder is Serban Dumitru.
The airline currently has two British Aerospace (BAe) 146-300, with 112 seats, a model built between 1987-2003.
Currently Aviro Air operates air flights to European destinations and the Middle East.
“Until next year, Aviro Air fleet will expand and diversify its destinations network. Our company’s aim is to provide to our clients good quality services and high performance. Our intention is to operate both external charter flights in Bucharest and Romania and to support the Romanian incoming, bringing foreign tourists from various target markets,” Aurel Biţianu stated.
The company has signed already contracts with several tour operators, both in Romania and abroad, and there are advanced talks with other major operators in the tourism sector.
