Germany’s B. Braun, one of the world´s leading healthcare suppliers, will start a new greenfield investment, consisting of a factory for infusion solutions, a center for scientific research & development and a logistics center, Ministry for Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship announced in a press release.

The news comes following the meeting that minister Alexandru Petrescu had on Monday with a delegation of the German company, continuing the series of meetings with representatives of foreign investors in Romania.

“As minister for business environment, I’m interested in a pragmatic approach, business-oriented and I believe that foreign investors are the representative ambassadors of Romanian economy. You have all our institutional support for increasing your investment locally,” Alexandru Petrescu stated.

The new investment would be completed by 2020 and will generate about 250 new jobs.

B. Braun carries out activities in the production of medical devices, drugs and dialysis services, with approximately 800 employees in Romania.

Braun entered domestic market in 1998 in a production facility in Timisoara, Romania becoming a distribution hub for German company in that region. From here B. Braun delivers its products to neighbouring markets such as Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania.
