Babes-Bolyai University’s Law School buys Opera Plaza hotel in Cluj for RON 40 M

The Law School of the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj has bought Opera Plaza hotel in the city in a RON 40 M transaction brokered by RE/MAX Romania.

The property is one of the most imposing buildings in the city’s historical district, being the first five-star hotel ever commissioned in Cluj-Napoca. Stretching on a 8,000-sqm area, the hotel was built on the platform of the former “Feleacul” factory.

The hotel building will be turned in the new headquarters of the Law School within UBB.

Negotiations lasted six months, including the period of obtaining the permits from the Education Ministry, with the Government consent.

The intermediation of the Opera Plaza sale represents the largest transaction of RE/MAX Romania until now, RON 40 million and it is also the largest transaction concluded in Cluj this year.
