The assets of mineral water producer Bilbor Mineral Water, part of the United Romanian Breweries Bereprod (URBB), which filed for insolvency in February last year, were put up on sale for about EUR 5 million (no VAT).
The assets held for sale are land, buildings, equipment, inventories, trademarks, glass design, mining license, goodwill.
Noncarbonated soft drinks producer Tymbark, controlled in Romania by Polish group Maspex Wadowice, is interested to take over the local mineral water producer.
Bilbor Mineral Water was launched in 2010 and involved an initial investment of over EUR 10 million in the construction of a factory in the town of Bilbor, Harghita county, 12 kilometers from Borsec resort.
Bilbor is a brand of mineral water positioned in the premium segment.
Besides Bilbor, URBB has a portfolio of beer brands such as Tuborg, Carlsberg and Skol and Granini juices. URBB reports an increasing development in the first 8 months of the year, both in terms of volume and amount, for the entire portfolio. Thus, the sales volume has increased with 10 percent on the internal market and with 13 percent in total, cumulating also the exports in Albania, Macedonia, Turkey, Hungary and Republic of Moldova.
