German group Bosch, with turnover of about RON 1.5 billion in Romania, plans to invest in a new local business, which involves the construction of a washing machines factory in Simeria, Hunedoara County, says quoting sources.

Moreover, it could be about relocating Bosch’s entire washing machines production to Romania.

Thus, the German group will build three industrial halls in Simeria, in an area close to the city’s railway depot. At the same time, Bosch will build its own railway line (200-500 meters long) linking the depot factory and from here to the Bosch beneficiaries worldwide. According to the source, after the investment will reach maturity, about 80 washing machines wagons will be delivered daily from the Bosch factory in Simeria.

Talks between Bosch officials and the municipality of Simeria over the factory to be built on a land of 20 hectares, began three months ago.

This new investment will provide between 2,000 and 2,500 jobs in the area. The Simerian public administration is committed to facilitating German investor’s access to utilities, and after signing the documents, Bosch will begin to acquire the plot necessary for the location of the plant.

The quoted sources state that choosing Simeria for investment was made after the Bosch was also offered by public administrations in Cluj, Brasov and Fagaras.

Bosch officials in Romania could not comment on the news.

In May 2017, Mihail Boldijar, General Manager Robert Bosch SRL Romania, said that the German group plans to invest in a new production facility in Romania, but he did not want to specify the field of activity.
