German group Bosch ended 2017 with consolidated sales of RON 1.9 billion in Romania, up 26 percent year-on-year, Mihai Boldijar, General Manager of Robert Bosch SRL Romania said in a press conference on Tuesday.
At the same time, the total net sales increased by nearly 57 percent to RON 4.2 billion.
”Romania has become an increasingly important market for Bosch in recent years. Bosch has maintained its strong position in Romania, with strong growth in 2017, despite the difficult economic and political climate in the country. In the first three months of 2018, Bosch has again managed to achieve a significant two-figure increase in sales,” Boldijar stated.
The number of Bosch employees in Romania increased by 36 percent in 2017 and reached almost 6,500 persons. The company expects their number to grow in 2018, especially in Cluj, Blaj and Timisoara.
Last year, Bosch has invested approximately RON 453 million in Romania, especially in the development of production units for mobility solutions in Cluj and Blaj.
