Bucharest is hosting CLIMA 2019 international congress this month, the largest European event dedicated to the design of the buildings of the future.
It is for the first time in 25 years that a Southeastern European country is hosting this Congress and it is an absolute premiere for Romania.
The congress, due on May 26-19, will welcome more than 1,000 participants from over 40 countries and 6 continents, providing over presentation sessions, student contests, courses, workshops and a large exhibition, for four days at the Romanian National Library.
One of the most important European events dedicated to the constructions and installations of the future, CLIMA 2019 is a congress focused on such topics as plumbing systems and equipment for smart, energy-efficient homes, on passive buildings and renewable energy, urban systems integrated by energy management, comfort across buildings in a proper outdoor climate.
To host the 13th edition of the CLIMA 2019 world congress, Romania has raced with several European states.
The edition in Bucharest, held under the patronage of the Romanian Academy, will talk about the „Built Environment Facing Climate Change”.
The event will get together high ranking names of the international scientific world, including two Romanian-born experts who have got international recognition: Cătălina Turcu – associate professor at The Bartlett, University College London – who will open the conference, and Ovidiu Noran – researcher within Griffith University Australia – who will end the congress.
Other important researcher are coming from Japan- professor Shin-ichi Tanabe, Department of Architecture, Waseda University, Dr. Hui Zhang, researcher at Berkeley University, and professor William Bahnfleth, Penn State University, from the U.S.
Professor Francis Allard comes from France, Université de la Rochelle, while Bjarne W. Olesen, comes from Denmark, DTU Department of Civil Engineering.
Germany is represented by Werner Luthsch, president of EURO HEAT AND POWER and Finland will send Mika Hattunen, president of HALTON Group.
