Car registrations in Romania up by 8.3 pc in Q1. Dacia sales advance by 5.1 pc on the EU market

Registrations of new cars in Romania in the first quarter increased by 8.3% as compared to the same period in 2014, to 14,452 units, while Dacia deliveries on the EU markets advanced by 5.1% to 95,414 units , the market share of the Romanian brand stood at 2.7%.
In Q1 last year, 13,345 new cars were registered in Romania.
In March, new car deliveries increased by 17.1% in Romania, from 4,577 units in 2014 to 5,358 units, according to data released on Thursday by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA).
The European car market rose by 8.6% in Q1 2015 as compared to the corresponding period last year to 3.52 million units, due to the positive development of large markets.
Portugal, with a sales advance of 36.1%, up to 46,212 units, recorded the largest increase in registrations, followed by Spain, with an increase of 32.2% and Ireland, up by 29.6% to 64,671 units.
Opposite stood Austria, with a decrease in car deliveries of 7.5% to 75,154 units, Poland, with a decline of 6.1% to 91,670 units, and Finland, down by 3 8%, to 29,355 units.
Dacia cars registrations in the EU increased by 5.1% in Q1 as compared to the same period in 2014, from 90,796 units to 95,414 units. ACEA estimates that Dacia has a market share of 2.7% at the end of Q1, down from 2.8% at the end of March 2014. In March, Dacia deliveries advanced by 7.4%, from 35,688 to 38,329 units.
