China-CEE Investment Cooperation Fund seeks investment opportunities in Romania

China-CEE Investment Cooperation Fund II has secured commitments totalling USD 800 million, the representatives of the company saying that they see opportunities in Romania and across the region, a press release informs.

“We seek investment opportunities in the 16-country CEE region, in well-managed companies that are cash flow generative and asset backed and have growth opportunities in their sectors.  The normal equity investment range is USD 20-100 million, but could be much larger with the co-investment of our Fund II partners. Targeted sectors include infrastructure and PPP, energy, specialised manufacturing, telecommunications, healthcare, tourism, education, and agriculture,” China-CEE Investment Cooperation Fund II officials stated.

CEE Equity Partners serves as the investment advisor to the first China-CEE Fund and has overseen 16 transactions in 5 countries in the CEE region totalling over USD 500 million.

The CEE Equity team consists of 28 investment professionals in offices in Warsaw, Budapest, Bucharest, Zagreb and now Prague.

“Regional and sectoral experience of CEE Equity Partners allows us to identify high performance companies, stable and predictable, with solid assets that need growth capital,” Octavian Vidu, Investment Manager for Romania said.

CEE Equity Partners Ltd is the investment advisor for the two China-CEE Funds with committed funds of over USD 1.2 billion. The Funds were established by China Exim Bank in partnership with other institutional investors from the CEE region to capitalise on investment opportunities in CEE countries.
