Attending the Fifth Meeting of Heads of Government of Centraland Eastern European Countries (CEEC) and China, Romanian Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos met Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in Riga, capital of Latvia during which they held talks about further cooperation on nuclear energy and thermal power, international media reports.
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said on Saturday evening that his country attaches high importance to the cooperation with Romania, and is ready to strengthen the integration of the two countries’ development strategies, enhance cooperation on nuclear energy, thermal power, deep processing of agricultural products, and promote a balanced growth of the bilateral trade.
He also called for stronger tourism cooperation between the two countries.
In turn, PM Dacian Ciolos said Romania is committed to the friendly cooperation with China.
“Romania welcomes Chinese firms to invest in local infrastructure like the ports, cooperate on agriculture and tourism, and promote major cooperation projects on nuclear energy and thermal power,” he added.
These talks are a continuation of those worn by former Romanian premier Victor Ponta two years ago when he announced that Bucharest could host a center for dialogue on energy issues.
