The Competition Council (CC) is receptive to any initiative that makes flexible the procurement process and makes it more efficient, paying attention to the legislation on concessions, watchdog head Bogdan Chiritoiu said on Monday in a press conference.
“We can help with suggestions where there are risks of distorting competition,” Chiritoiu pointed out.
According to him, CC is concerned about the long duration of the concession contracts, which duration may block the market functioning. New companies can not entering the domestic market.
“We must to prevent and penalize the agreements between companies leading to too high procurement prices. We are much more careful about frauds or acquisitions distortion on European funds and less on the national funds segment, which is not fair,” Chiritoiu explained.
