Commercial Diplomacy Chamber with the Kingdom of Spain just was established, a non-governmental organization that aims to promote the economic and trade relations between Romania and Spain, as well as the cooperation in fields such as tourism, agriculture, scientific research, health, telecom, combating corruption, intellectual property and consumer protection, Union of Bilateral Chambers of Commerce in Romania announced.
The new organization is headquartered in Bucharest, with branches in Madrid and Barcelona that will be open this autumn and the members will be companies with Romanian and Spanish capital, a press release informs.
“The establishment of the Commercial Diplomacy Chamber with the Kingdom of Spain is the answer to the need to represent and effectively support the Romanian community in Spain in its relations and approaches they undertake with the Spanish or Romanian institutions. At the same time, it’s a solution to promote more visibly the Spanish business environment interested in investing in Romania,” said Magdalena Patriche, Secretary General of the Commercial Diplomacy Chamber with Kingdom of Spain.
At end-2016, Romania’s total trade volume with Spain stood at EUR 3.564 billion and Spain climbed to the 7th position in foreign investors ranking, with direct investments of EUR 1.707 million. Romanian exports to Spain reached EUR 1,720.78 million, accounting for 2.98 percent of total Romanian exports. Imports of Spanish products to Romania amounted to EUR 1,834.76 million, accounting for 2.73 percent of Romania’s total imports.
