Bogdan Chiritoiu’s mandate to lead the Competition Council – extended for five years
President Klaus Iohannis has signed a decree on Thursday for the appointment of Bogdan Chiritoiu as president of the Competition Council for another 5-year term, the Presidential Administration informs. Bogdan Chiritoiu, an economist, has led the Competition Council since May 2009. His first term expired in 2014, when he became interim president.
The Competition Council leadership and members are appointed by the President of Romania.
Before being appointed, in 2009, the head of the regulatory authority in the field of competition, Bogdan Chiritoiu, served as state adviser with the Department of Planning and Policy Analysis of the Presidential Administration, during the mandate of Traian Basescu.
