In the first quarter of this year, Dacia, owned by Renault Group, sold 171,577 vehicles, up by 13.8% against the same quarter of the previous year. The market share of the brand within the group has also increased from 17% to 18.5%.
Renault’s global car registrations and commercial vehicles (since January 1, 2018 including Jinbei and Huasong brands) rose by 4.8% in Q1, on a market that grew by 2.7%. The market share is 4% (+0.1 points against 2017). The Renault and Dacia brands each have set new record sales in Q1, capital.ro reports.
In Europe, the group’s registrations increased by 2.8% on a market growing by 0.6%, due to the success of the new Duster and Koleos models. Outside Europe, the group recorded sales up by 22.1% in Eurasia and 21.3% in Central and South America and lower in Africa-Middle East-India (-5.3%) and Asia Pacific (-18.6%).
In Q1 2018, the Group’s turnover amounted to EUR 13,155 million (+0.2%).
