The French clothing manufacturer Lacoste will sell the factory in Cisnadie, Sibiu County, where nearly 400 employees work, to Sunrise Knits, one of the largest textiles and clothing companies in the world.
Inside information from the factory in Cisnadie, Trans Euro Textile, clothing manufacturer for Lacoste, say the employees have been informed that the French owner has sold the factory to the Chinese company Sunrise Kits, part of Youngor group and that the work contracts will be observed.
The Youngor group is a giant company with 19,000 employees and sales exceeding EUR 11 billion, according to profit.ro.
Lacoste took over the Trans Euro Textile factory in 2017 from the French companies Tricotages de Saintlouis and Fabrication des Gayettes and had a turnover of RON 21.17 million, a profit of RON 1.1 million and 382 employees.
The factory will be taken over 90% by Sunrise Knits and 10% by Smart Shirts Knits, ziare.com informs.
The factory, functional since 1998, produces clothing in lohn.
