Luxury cruise ships, high capacity boats for oil and sea transport ships will be built in the coming period by the Damen Shipyard in Mangalia.
According to a joint press release sent by Damen and the Ministry of Economy, the new major contracts, recently signed, are focused on all three sectors of activity of the Mangalia shipyard: cruise ships, passenger ships and offshore vessels, and attracting new major contracts will make the yard to operate at full capacity as of this summer.
One of the new projects to be carried out at Mangalia Shipyard is a cruise ship – a 155-meter mega yacht for luxury journeys around the world. The contract was signed with SeaDream Yacht Club in Norway, marking the entry of the Damen Group into the cruise ship market. The yacht will be built entirely at Damen Mangalia Shipyard.
Damen Mangalia Shipyard will also build transport vessels and a complex ship for offshore exploitations, with a loading capacity of over 10,000 tons (10,000 TDW).
