Medicine sales up 10.7 pct in Q1

The amount of drugs issued to Romanian patients, in the first quarter amounted to RON 3.27 billion, at distribution price, increasing by 10.7 percent over 2014, according to the results of the Pharma & Hospital Report survey, conducted by Cegedim.

Of this amount, non-prescription drugs were worth RON 0.63 billion, up by 27.7 percent and the hospital segment stood at RON 0.38 billion, up by 11.5 percent compared to Q1 of the previous year.

The study also found that in the last 12 months was registered a growth in volume above the market average for medicines for the respiratory system (15.3 percent), for blood and hematopoiesis (14.4 percent) and for the digestive system and metabolism (11 percent).
