Construction and Arms Manufacturing Keep Romanian Industry Growing

In the first 4 months, business in the industry increased by 7.1%, according to the data sent on Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). The increase was due to growth in the capital goods industry (where the advance was over 13%. This industry includes metal door and window manufacturing, metal treatment and coating, general mechanical operations, tool and hardware manufacturing, to manufacture of armaments and ammunition.

In April 2024, business in the industry was in the red compared to March, according to the data sent by the INS.
The energy industry (3%) and consumer goods (4%) had the most modest advance.

Consumer goods include production of meat, milk, oil, flour, beverages , tobacco, but also clothing, textiles, as well as the pharmaceutical industry.
