The electronic components plant in Timisoara of German automotive group Continental has supplied 60 million units in its 10 years of activity. 2 million parts enter the production line daily and 45,000 products are manufactured every day, a press release informs.
“In this period, Continental completes the factory’s third expansion and the products and new lines, which will be installed, as well as the announced large volumes by customer, require internal changes. The first major step taken in this regard is to supplement the team, for all positions available at the beginning of 2017,” Franciscoxavier Pujol, plant manager stated.
The production unit celebrates 10 years in Timisoara and has over 1,200 employees. The surface location will increase this year by over 7,000 sqm. At the end of the works, the production facility in Timisoara will have an area of over 21,000 sqm.
This is the third extension of the workspace of the factory and the investment amounts to EUR 12 million.
Continental AG, the leading German automotive manufacturing invested EUR 1.13 billion in activities in Romania during 1999-2015. Continental has 7 production plants and four research and development centres in Timisoara, Carei, Nadab, Brasov and Iasi.
