Continental’s Automotive Electronics Plant in Timisoara has expanded its production and warehouse with 5,000 square meters and inaugurated a new office building of over 2,200 square meters, following an investment of EUR 12 million, a press release informs.
According to the leading German automotive manufacturer, all these have been necessary due to the increased production capacity in the coming years.
“The factory has evolved impressive in its ten years of existence. We started with 200 employees in 2006 and reached over 1,300,” Ralf Luchs, Continental Timisoara plant manager stated.
In turn, Hans-Jürgen Braun, Head of Continental’s Central Electronic Plants, said that over 60 million electronic components have been already manufactured here. “The quality of products, and the people’s commitment who work here led us to increase the investment in Romania,” Continental official pointed out.
Million of board instruments were produced in the factory in Timisoara, as well as displays and airbag control units, making car traveling safer and more comfortable for millions of drivers. Moreover, Continental Timisoara factory won the Green Plant Silver Award in 2016 and the Gold Automotive Award for zero-defect products for one year at the airbag control units designed for Renault.
