Debt Collection Agency (DCA) Romania, a leading company specialized in purchasing and managing receivables in Bulgaria and Romania, has opened its first call centre outside Bucharest in October. Based on several indicators, like the size of the population, the existence of public and private universities, the unemployment rate and the level of the medium net salary, they chose Craiova, Romania’s 6th largest city located on southern country, to be the location of its new call centre.

The city of Craiova has distinguished itself with the highest percentage of people aged from 15 to 49 (54%) and with having two public and one private universities. At close range there were also Galati (eastern Romania) and Pitesti, but the short distance to Bucharest and the high number of students turned the tide to Craiova.

Pitești, Râmnicu Vâlcea, Focșani, Constanța, Galați, Sibiu, Târgu Jiu, Bacău, Drobeta Turnu Severin and Alba Iulia have been the other analysed cities.

Expanding our operations in another smaller city where the staff fluctuation is considerably lower than in Bucharest is a natural action that came up along with the company’s development. This move proves stability and represents an extra certainty that our company’s ranking in the top 5 of the most important receivable collector companies in Romania is achieved through strategic actions and through long-term vision,” said Andreea Moroșanu, Director of Operations DCA Romania.

DCA Romania, owned by the Norwegian group B2Holding, has increased the number of employees five-fold since 2015. Set up in 2013, DCA had 25 employees in 2015, 75 employees in 2016 and 130 at the end of 2017. The company estimates the number will mount to 160 this year.

DCA is currently operating on the local market, without call centre activities, in Bucharest, Timișoara, Iași and Brașov. 13 new colleagues have joined the team in Craiova.
