eCommerce giant Amazon has officially started hiring in Bucharest

Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer, has officially launched the recruitment campaign for its new center in Bucharest, the top 20 available positions being for jobs such as software engineers or translators, according to the company’s recruitment portal data.

“Amazon has recently opened up a new engineering office in Bucharest, Romania. This office is already the home of several engineering teams that are working on the operating systems, the virtualization, and networking technologies that power AWS – Amazon Web Services. The teams provide key pieces of the technical foundation that AWS and Amazon are built on. We constantly innovate cloud computing technologies to enhance AWS’s competitiveness and the experience of our customers,” the employment announcement reads.

US giant Amazon will recruit at least 1,300 employees for its new headquarters in Bucharest within the Globalworth Campus project in Pipera area, developed by the Globalworth, as zf.ro informs.

Amazon signed with the investment fund led by Greek businessman Ioannis Papalekas for 13,500 sqm of office area, in the third largest transaction of 2017, after the one of 20,000 sqm signed by Renault Technologie Roumanie in North Center and the other one of 18,000 sqm between IBM and Forte Partners for The Bridge.

Amazon Romania has recently opened a new development and technology center in Iasi, creating 400 permanent jobs that are added to the 600 that the company already had locally.

I started my way in life with the intention to pursue a teaching career. But, after graduating from the Faculty of Letters – the University of Bucharest in 2004, my first job as a reporter at one of the leading newspapers in Romania changed my perspective. I have specialized in communication and communication campaigns, following the Master's courses at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Studies (FJSC), attending a BBC Communications scholarship.
I’ve represented several important publications in Romania as business journalist, being accredited in the finance and banking field. In 2015, I had the opportunity to interview the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief for Romania, Andrea Schaechter. As business journalist, I also had the opportunity to interview ministers for Economics and Commercial
Affairs offices within different embassies in Romania or officials of large companies investing on the domestic market.
After almost 15 years of journalism, I still want to explore new ways, to inform and stay updated. That’s why The Romania Journal project fits me so well.
Today I describe myself as a passionate about the history of world culture, having a PhD in Hebrew Culture and Civilization, after a scholarship at the University of Haifa International School, as a language addict, an environmental activist, pet lover and traveler.
