eJobs.ro, the Romanian online recruitment platform, launched iajob.ro, a platform mainly dedicated to candidates from the blue collar segment (who do not have higher education) and who want to get hired quickly, without going through the traditional steps of a recruitment process, such as creating a CV or applying without having direct contact with the employer.

“One of the great desires of candidates is to be able to connect directly with the employer, and this comes from an older dissatisfaction in the labor market, related to the lack of feedback from employers. We see more and more candidates who want to interact directly and immediately with a potential employer, ask for and receive job details, but also skip the step of creating a CV, which for many is a real hurdle. There are candidates who sometimes give up applying for a job precisely because they don’t have a CV and don’t even know how to do it”, says Bogdan Badea, CEO of eJobs.ro.

With contact methods such as phone, Whatsapp or Telegram available, the application process is considerably simplified. At the same time, it is easier for recruiters who need candidates immediately to reach them and set the necessary steps for the interview.

“We are primarily talking about blue collar (without higher education) and gray collar specialists (occupations that combine aspects of both office work and physical work), such as tradesmen, skilled and unskilled workers, cleaning staff, cooks, waiters , drivers, security guards, sellers, installers, etc., but also creative and unconventional talents, such as trainers, presenters for online games, confectioners and pastry chefs, entertainers, photographers, sommeliers”, explains Bogdan Badea.

Of the total number of jobs posted so far, two-thirds are aimed at candidates who have completed high school and unskilled workers, and one-third are looking for candidates who also have higher education.

Most of the announcements come from employers in retail, hospitality, logistics or the food industry, and the cities for which they need candidates the most are Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Ploiești, Pitești, Oradea, Sibiu and Timișoara. The salaries offered by employers for blue-collar jobs vary between 3,000 and 5,000 lei per month, depending on the field of activity, city, but also on the experience a candidate has.

Although the salary is the main criterion according to which a blue-collar candidate chooses to apply for a job, at the moment, only 20% of the jobs posted on iajob.ro have the salary displayed in the job advertisement.

“Not only the application process has been simplified, but also the recruitment process, and the possibility to contact the employer directly, via Whatsapp, Telegram, but especially by phone has eliminated the dead time that can be a real obstacle for a recruiter who needs people immediately or for candidates who are looking for a job urgently. Another new element is that, through iajob.ro, they can post ads including natural persons, who obviously do not hire frequently, do not have to fulfill all the formalities specific to a corporation, but rather need an interaction simple, which does not even require the existence of a CV from the candidate”, says Bogdan Badea.

Of the total number of jobs posted so far on iajob.ro, 75% are addressed to those with a maximum of 3 years of experience. 20% are intended for candidates with 3-5 years of experience, and for the rest, candidates who have more than 5 years of experience are sought.
