Electric energy consumption in H1, by 1.5 pc lower yoy

The final consumption of electric energy in the first half of 2017 was 27220.9 million KWh, by 1.5 percent lower as against the corresponding period of 2016, National Institute of Statistics (INS) informs.

At the same time, the public lighting decreased by 7.3 percent, while population consumption decreased by 2.2 percent. The exports of electric energy amounted to 3746.4 million KWh decreasing with 44.6 million KWh. The own technological consumption in networks and stations amounted to 3185.7 million KWh increasing with 38.3 million KWh.

The main primary energy resources in the first half of 2017 amounted to 16309.2 thousand tonnes oil equivalent (toe), increasing with 324.9 thousand toe as against the first half of 2016,. Domestic production amounted to 10522.9 thousand toe, increasing with 361.4 thousand toe as against the same period of previous year, while imports amounted to 5786.3 thousand toe.

During this period, electric energy resources amounted to 34153.0 million KWh, decreasing with 409.0 million KWh as compared to the first half of 2016.

The thermal power stations production amounted to 13945.4 million KWh increasing with 1888.3 million KWh (+15.7 percent).

The hydroelectric power stations production was 8193.4 million KWh decreasing with 2571.4 million kWh (23.9 percent), while the one of nuclear power stations was 5519.6 million KWh increasing with 288.4 million kWh (+5.5 percent).

The production of wind power stations in the first half of 2017 was 3815.2 million KWh, increasing with 495.2 million KWh, while photovoltaic solar energy produced during this period was 980.5 million KWh, increasing with 21.0 million KWh as compared to the corresponding period of 2016.
