The online retailer eMAG, the largest in the region, is ready to take over the online retailer Fashion Days, one of the online largest fashion retailers in Romania, the both companies being controlled by the same owner, Naspers. In May 2015, the company will submit an application to the regulatory authorities of competition on the takeover of the Fashion Days, a press release informs.
Of this transaction both companies will benefit: Fashion Days will continue its strategic development using the eMAG and eMAG will benefit from the expertise in fashion, strategic partnerships and customer base of the Fashion Days. The fashion retailer will move its headquarters to Bucharest.
Fashion Days is the largest online shopping destination in Romania and Eastern Europe.
The fashion retailer has over 8 million users and sells over 200,000 products from 500 international brands.
The transaction is another step towards the target announced by Iulian Stanciu, shareholder and general director of eMAG, in the past few years, so that the online retailer to reach sales threshold of EUR 1 billion.
