The price of electricity on the spot market in Romani will reach a historical high up to RON 750/MWh on Thursday, which means double as against the other countries in the region, according to latest statistics released by OPCOM.
The energy price will mount to this cost during three timelines, from 10:00hrs to 21:00hrs.
The last record had mounted to RON 680/MWh recorded in February 2017, but it was during an extremely cold period, when the energy consumption was at its high countrywide.
The average price of energy to be supplied on Thursday is RON 578/MWh, which also represents a record for the average prices per day.
In the region, Romania is bay far the most expensive energy market (EUR 122/MWh), compared to EUR 53/MWh in Hungary and EUR 46 in Slovakia and Czech Republic.
