The U.S. News & World Report announced the winners of the inaugural 2016-17 Best Hotels in Europe edition on October 18. U.S. News & World Report ranked the top hotels in Romania based on an unbiased analysis of awards, expert recommendations and user ratings. Out of 26 luxury hotels, Epoque Hotel earned the Gold badge by scoring in the top 10 percent of the Best Hotels in Europe.
The inaugural Best Hotels in Europe rankings evaluate more than 2,000 five-star hotels across more than 40 European countries. The methodology accounts for both expert and guest sentiment, the combination of which helps determine each hotel’s rank. The aggregate opinion of published travel experts is expressed through awards, recommendations and star ratings. Consumer sentiment is measured by user-generated reviews and guest rankings.
Only five-star hotels were considered for the inaugural ranking.
The Awards for Best Hotels in Europe include the Top 10 percent of all ranked luxury hotels in Europe. The Awards for Best Hotels in a specific Destination include the Top 30 percent of all ranked luxury hotels within a destination.
