ETi plant in Craiova awarded for excellence in Japan

The ETi plant in Craiova, the first international investment of the Turkish company ETi and the largest greenfield investment in the sweets sector in the last decade, has received the prestigious “TPM Excellence Award Level 1” from the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance, confirming its operational performance and manufacturing excellence.

Inaugurated in 2016, the ETi Craiova plant represents an investment of over €70 million and covers a total area of 75,800 square meters, of which 18,500 square meters are dedicated to production. With more than 400 employees, the facility plays a key role in the local economy and is designed for future expansions to serve markets in the Balkans, Central and Eastern Europe.

The recognition for the ETi Craiova plant comes as the ETi Group became the first company in the bakery and chocolate industry to receive the JIPM’s World-Class Manufacturing award. In addition to the award received by the Romanian unit, ETi’s cake factory in Eskișehir, Türkiye, received the highest level of the TPM – World-Class Manufacturing awards, and ETi’s biscuit factory in Türkiye was honored with the “TPM Special Award Level 3”. Implementing the TPM system across all of its factories, ETi has successfully earned a total of 22 awards from JIPM so far.

Highlighting that this prestigious award marks a significant milestone in their long-standing journey to excellence, ETi Global CEO Stephane Batoux stated:
