Europe’s biggest car interiors manufacturer to open new plant in Ramnicu Valcea
Faurecia, Europe’s biggest maker of car interiors, is going to invest EUR 8 million in a new plant in the city of Ramnicu Valcea (southwestern Romania), being its largest production hall. Here, French automotive parts supplier plans to hire 1,600 employees, Valcea County Prefecture announced on Friday. According to quoted source, the construction of the new unit production has already begun.
The highly qualified staff in Valcea county, as well as the support and the active involvement of all local influencing factors – public authorities, local community members – are strong arguments for Faurecia concern to expand the business activity in Romania. The new investment demonstrates our confidence in the long-term potential of industrial market in Valcea,” French investor says.
The new production hall will cover an area of 12,000 square meters and will be completed in February 2016.
In the Romanian market, Faurecia operates production facilities located in Pite?ti, Craiova and Talmaciu. The company supplies its output to a wide range of major car makers, including Toyota, Hyundai, BMW, General Motors, Renault-Nissan, Peugeot, Daimler and Ford.
France’s Faurecia has opened the first plant in Valcea in 2013, where about 300 employees are working.
