The Competition Council has authorized the transaction through which OMV Petrom takes over the aviation fuel supply contracts of Eurospeed concluded with certain airline companies operating on Iasi International Airport, a press release informs.
OMV Petrom is an oil company which mainly carries out exploration and production of hydrocarbons, sales of natural gas, refining of crude oil, sales of oil products as well as the production and sale of electricity. The company operates either directly or through its affiliated entities in Romania, in Kazakhstan (exploration and production of hydrocarbons only), Bulgaria, Serbia and Republic of Moldova (sales of petroleum products only).
Eurospeed supplies aviation fuel and provides logistics services for airline companies and other categories of beneficiaries operating flights at Iasi International Airport.
Romania’s anti-trust body analysed this operation and found that it did not raise significant barriers to effective competition on the Romanian market or on a substantial part of it, in particular by creating or strengthening a dominant position.
The decision will be published on the competition authority’s website, after confidential information is removed.
