Annual inflation significantly decreased in March to 6.6%, from 7.2% in February. This was driven by marginal declines in some food prices and slower price increases for other products.

According to the National Institute of Statistics, food prices rose by an average of +0.25% in March compared to February, and by +2.3% since the beginning of the year.

Compared to March 2023, prices are now higher by +2.8% for food, +8% for non-food products, and service tariffs have increased by +10% over the past year.

INS data reveal that in March prices declined as compared to February in such foodstuff as oil, butter, sugar, but there are products and services more expensive in March compared to the previous month, like potatoes, electricity, laundry detergents or plane tickets
