The National Bank of Romania (BNR) has revised upwards to 3.6% of the inflation forecast for the end of this year, from the former level of 3.5%.
The previous forecast indicated an inflation of 3.5% in 2018, BNR Governor Mugur Isarescu said on Wednesday. For the end of 2019, the BNR estimates an inflation rate of 3%, down by 0.1 percentage points, digi24.ro informs.
According to the National Bank of Romania, annual CPI inflation is anticipated to fluctuate around 5% during Q2 and Q3, 2018, and will decrease during the fourth quarter of 2018, also benefiting substantially from favourable basic effects, attributable to the current year, to the impact of the shock in terms of offer in the last part of 2017, and for next year to those in the first half of 2018.
