BRD Groupe Société Générale, in partnership with the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE), is inaugurating a new educational hub, part of the national BRD HUBs network, and signing a new partnership aimed at supporting university education in Romania.
The new co-working and co-learning space, located in the building of the Faculty of Cybernetics, Statistics, and Economic Informatics on Calea Dorobanți 15-17, provides students with a modern environment and optimal conditions to study, collaborate, and participate in educational events on career development, technology, innovation, finance, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. The design proposal was based on an analysis of students’ real needs, transforming the hallway connecting the amphitheaters on the second floor into a welcoming, modern space where students can confidently build their professional and personal future.
Through this project, the renovated hallway now allows student access to four amphitheaters and six administrative offices on the second floor and connects the Virgil Madgearu and Mihai Eminescu buildings via a walkway. The hub has a capacity of over 100 users, with all students benefiting from unlimited free WiFi access.
The inauguration of the BRD HUB in the Bucharest University of Economic Studies marks a long-standing collaboration between BRD Groupe Société Générale and ASE, one of Romania’s most prestigious universities. The two institutions reaffirm their commitment to working together to enhance higher education in Romania and to prepare future generations of specialists through various student-focused programs and projects.
“Through BRD HUBs, we reaffirm our commitment to investing in education and supporting young people in their professional development. It’s not just about a modern study space—it’s an educational ecosystem that fosters collaboration, innovation, and essential connections with the professional environment. Universities play a crucial role in shaping future leaders and specialists, and we at BRD aim to be an active partner in this process by providing students with the resources and opportunities they need to transition into a successful career,” said Mădălina Teodorescu, Deputy CEO of BRD Groupe Société Générale.
Professor Nicolae Istudor, PhD, Rector of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, who attended today’s event, stated: “The BRD HUB in the Virgil Madgearu building has proven to be a highly appreciated project by our students, who use it to its full capacity. Its inauguration marks another important step in our long-term partnership with BRD, an institution that plays a key role in shaping and integrating future financial-banking specialists. We are confident that this collaboration will continue to create value for both students and the economic sector, strengthening the link between academic education and labor market demands.”
The BRD HUBs network provides students with modern, interactive spaces tailored to their needs, where they can study, collaborate, and participate in events relevant to their professional development.
The program includes 30 hubs integrating laboratories, amphitheaters, and multifunctional spaces in universities across 12 cities in Romania. Each year, hundreds of thousands of students will have access to libraries, coworking areas, and relaxation zones in an environment designed for both comfortable studying and efficient leisure time.
