IMF mission to start talks on the Tax Code on Tuesday
A technical mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Commission arrives in Bucharest on Tuesday for technical discussions related to the Tax Code and the state of implementation of the measures contained in the program with the two international financial institutions. The IMF and EC mission will be concluded on May 26.
“It is a technical mission and I hope to be a successful mission in the end, so that we can bring into discussion the programme with the IMF, European Commission and World Bank. We took part this week in Brussels to the Council of Ministers of Finance, ECOFIN, where we reiterated that Romania is firmly committed to this program and to successfully conclude it in September,” said the Minister of Finance Eugen Teodorovici on May 15..
He said that the technical mission is to discuss every measure of the Tax Code on the basis of arguments, but stressed that Romania needs fiscal relaxation.
