The largest bank in Poland, PKO Bank Polski, announced that, starting January 1, 2025, its corporate branch began operating in Romania.

Through this new branch, namely “PKO Bank Polski S.A. Warsaw, Bucharest Branch”, PKO Bank Polski intends to support Polish companies operating on the Romanian market. However, the financial institution intends to open up to financing local companies in the region in the coming period.

At the same time, the new branch aims to become the gateway for Romanian companies wishing to enter the Polish market. The establishment of this branch in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, comes after PKO Bank Polski opened three other foreign corporate branches in Frankfurt, Prague and Bratislava. The start of its operations in Romania is part of its foreign expansion strategy for the period 2025-2027, with the bank planning to expand to eight other European countries.
