Raiffeisen Bank Romania and Raiffeisen Bank International finance with over € 28.7 million the development of the photovoltaic park in Teiuș, Alba County, inaugurated at the end of April.
The investment loan is supported in equal proportions by the two financial institutions and covers 60% of the development costs of the photovoltaic park, the total value of the project being around €55 million. This investment has also been supported by €15 million in grant funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), Green Energy component.
In addition, Raiffeisen Bank Romania and Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) provide a €3.8 million package, which includes VAT financing for investments and other products dedicated to supporting the Teiuș project.
”By financing the Teiuș photovoltaic park, we are taking another step towards supporting Romania’s energy transition with a complex project that brings solar production using trackers to the forefront and will soon include a storage component. We have committed to the project with conviction and enthusiasm, in line with our long-term strategy to promote sustainability through financial expertise,” declared Cătălin Cepișcă, Senior Director, Department of Energy, Metals and Utilities, Raiffeisen Bank Romania.
Raiffeisen Bank Romania and RBI acted as Mandated Lead Arrangers and Funding Banks, with Raiffeisen Bank Romania also acting as Collateral Agent and Account Bank.
Teiuș Photovoltaic Park is operated by the Danish company Eurowind Energy and developed in partnership with Teiuș Solar S.R.L.
“The Teiuș solar park is Eurowind’s largest solar project globally and marks a symbolic milestone, 13 years after inaugurating our first park in Romania. Together with strong financial partners such as Raiffeisen Bank, we continue developing projects that position Romania as a hub with regional potential in renewable energy production, significantly contributing to the country’s decarbonization objectives,” declared Adrian Dobre, Country Manager of Eurowind Energy, Romania.
With an installed capacity of 60.2 MW, the park adds green energy to the national grid and marks a new step in Romania’s energy transition. The project will produce approximately 103.59 GWh of electricity annually and will contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions by more than 37,000 tons.
An essential element of the Teiuș Park infrastructure is the 110/20kV, 80 MVA internal transformer substation, built to the highest standards to ensure the efficient integration of the energy produced into the national grid.
Teiuș is the fourth photovoltaic park developed by Eurowind Energy in Romania, after the projects in Hălchiu, Măgurele and Pufești. The company will have a local operational portfolio of 124 MW by the end of 2025 and has a project pipeline of around 8 GW in development, covering solar, wind, hybrid and storage solutions.
