The cohort of Romanian companies from the MoonShotX program, carried out by Raiffeisen Bank Romania in partnership with InnovX, took part in an event in London which marked a premiere – it was the first time a delegation from Romania closed a trading session at the London Stock Exchange.

“This moment is proof that MoonShotX, the program through which we aimed to help local companies scale, already has an international impact. We have thus demonstrated, once again, that Romanian companies have products and services that can successfully compete with those of other renowned companies at a global level,” said Cristian Sporiș, Vice President, Corporate Division and Member of the Board of Directors of Raiffeisen Bank Romania.

At the same time, as a sign of recognition of the contribution that MoonShotX program has made to economic diplomacy, the delegation was invited to sign the London Stock Exchange Welcome Book.

“Our participation at the London Stock Exchange event reflects the international recognition of the impact that MoonShotX has in connecting the innovation ecosystems in Romania and in the UK.” – Diana Dumitrescu, CEO InnovX.

A new international scaling session for Romanian companies

The moment coincided with the third international scaling session within MoonShotX, the first scaling project dedicated to mid-corporate companies in Romania with a turnover between 5 and 50 million euros – after the events in Vienna and Washington.

The session, hosted by London Stock Exchange, began with a series of speeches that featured, among others, Chris Barton, His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Europe, Giles Portman, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Romania, Laura Popescu, Ambassador of Romania to the United Kingdom and Axel Kalinovski, Head of Central and Southern Europe, London Stock Exchange.

From capital markets to international diplomacy, speeches emphasized innovation and the importance of international cooperation.

Also, the Romanian companies participating in the program had the opportunity to present their businesses to over 100 people, clients and potential investors from the United Kingdom.

At the same time, they were able to learn more about the UK market and the strategic advantage that a presence in the region can have, from several sector specialists from the Romanian Embassy in the UK, the UK Department for Business and Trade (DPT), the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce (BRCC), Raiffeisen Bank International, DLA Piper, Molten Ventures, InnovX and Raiffeisen Bank Romania.
