In the first months of this year, Ford Automobile Craiova will employ 975 people to be trained, informs, quoting local sources. As of this fall, they will manufacture Ford’s new mini-SUV EcoSport.

The first employments will begin this March and the selected candidates will benefit from a probationary period until August 1.

However, the representatives of Ford Craiova plant had no comment on the subject.

Factory’s unions confirmed all these info, after they had received an internal document which informs them about the hiring process.

About 240 out of 975 workers will be employed for an indefinite period. Ford is especially looking for unskilled workers, as well as 70 qualified people – electricians and electronics engineers.

US car manufacturer has made massive layoffs in recent years, both as a result of activity’s optimization after taking over the plant from the Romanian state, and as a result of the crisis that has dramatically reduced the demand in the European markets of the B-Max model.

Just in 2014 and 2015, Ford laid off about 700 employees on a voluntary basis, those who preferred to leave the factory, being compensated with significant amounts of money.
