Franco-Indian Pharmaceuticals enters Romanian market

Franco-Indian, the pharma company with the longest tradition in India, makes its debut on European market, Romania being the hub from where the continent-wide expansion will be coordinated, informs.

The company, with worldwide presence in Asia and Africa, expects to reach a turnover of EUR 200,000 in Romania in its first year of activity, through a distribution network of at least 1,500 pharmacies nationwide. Moreover, Franco-Indian Pharmaceuticals estimates that in 2020, after 4 years of operation in Romania, will register a turnover of EUR 1 million.

The company will enter the domestic market with two ranges of natural supplements -Dexorange and Natvie – market leaders in their segment.

Given that more and more Romanians are facing health problems caused by poor nutrition in vitamins and minerals, RFI Pharma, the company that helps Franco-Indian to expand in both Romania and Europe, announces that, in the first 6 months after its launch, 8,000 products worth RON 150,000 will be provided free to people with diseases caused by deficiencies of vitamins and minerals, but also those with low financial possibilities.

“Natural supplements market in Romania is constantly growing, with sales of EUR 500 million just in 2015, in pharmacies and online. Even if we register this value, our country has serious shortcomings in terms of nutritious foods consumption and dietary supplements,” Radu Procop, marketing manager RFI Pharma Romania.

Headquartered at Mumbai, Franco-Indian was founded in 1949 and has nearly 2000 employees.

The pharma company has several firsts to its credit introduced in India, including: oral V Penicillin, the steroid Cortisone, Metformin – the best and most economical treatment for Diabetes a.s.o.
