The total traffic of goods registered between January 1 – June 30, 2015 through the Romanian maritime ports was of 27.80 million tonnes, compared to 22.67 million tonnes between January 1 -June 30, 2014, an increase of 22.6 percent.
According to N.C. Maritime Ports Administration S.A. Constanta, a spectacular growth of the grain traffic is to be noted, from 4.47 million tonnes in the first half of 2014, to 10.55 million tonnes in the same period this year (122 percent).
Other cargo types that registered traffic increases: coal, coke (105 percent), non-ferrous ores and scrap (35 percent), oil products (10 percent), crude oil (4.6 percent).
Traffic decreases were registered for iron ores, scrap (53 percent), chemical products (47 percent).
In the total traffic of goods through the Romanian maritime ports during the analyzed period, the grains have a share of 38 percent, the crude oil 12.1 percent, miscellaneous 12.1 percent, oil products 9.4 percent.
From the total traffic, the maritime traffic registered 20.66 million tonnes (an increase of 15.79 percent compared to June 30, 2014) and the river traffic reached 6.93 million tonnes (an increase of 49 percent compared to June 30, 2014, the evolution being determined by the favorable conditions for navigation on the Danube).
The container traffic registered 3.35 million tonnes on June 30, 2015, respectively 335,893 TEU, as compared to the same period of 2014, when there were registered 3.39 million tonnes, respectively 340,430 TEU.
