Romanian state-controlled hydropower producer Hidroelectrica re-launched the EUR 78.9 million tender for upgrading the Vidraru complex on the Arges River, and includes both the design and the works execution.

Hidroelectrica published the new tender for the refurbishment of the Vidraru Hydro-Power Plant (HPP), consisting of a storage lake and a hydroelectric power plant, at the end of last week in the Electronic System of Public Procurement (SEAP).

The deadline for completion is 56 months from signing the contract.

The project was also auctioned in 2016, but the procedure was canceled a year later, after the state-owned company appreciated that all the bids submitted were unacceptable and / or non-compliant.

At that time, Hidroelectrica has received 45 offers from companies in Romania, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Serbia, Russia and China.

The Vidraru power plant has an installed capacity of 220 MW and was put into operation in 1966.
