Romanian state-controlled hydropower producer Hidroelectrica registered a gross profit of RON 743.7 million in the first 5 months of 2017, RON 154.6 million more than in the same period last year, representing a 26 percent increase year-on-year.
The production after five months reached about 6.5 TWh, compared to 7 TWh achieved in the same period of 2016. The period was marked by exceptional calls on the balancing market, Hidroelectrica being a factor of stability of the National Energy System.
At the same time, Hidroelectrica’s turnover recorded at this end-May was RON 1.436 billion, compared to RON 1.296 billion in the same period last year, up by 11 percent.
The performances of the Romanian state-controlled hydropower producer in deficient hydrological conditions, expressed in turnover and gross profit, are better than in the similar period of 2016 and reflects the continued sustainability measures of the company.
