Ikea is hiring for its second store in Romania

The Swedish furniture retailer Ikea is preparing to open its second store in Romania, which will be located on Theodor Pallady Boulevard in Bucharest, namely it has initiated the procedures to hire 350 people.

Therefore, Ikea is looking for employees for the following departments: sales, interior design/visual merchandising, customer services, maintenance, logistics and storage, stock supply, surveillance playground for children and staff for the clients’ and employees’ restaurants, as well as for the bistro and for the Swedish delicacy shop.

IKEA started officially the construction of the second store in Romania, in Bucharest’s Pallady area, on November 28 last year.

KEA Pallady will cover about 37,000 square meters, will have 1,300 parking spaces and charging stations for electric cars, 550-seat restaurant, bistro, Swedish delicacy shop and the Småland Children Playground. The new store will also have an 800-square-meter greenhouse in Market Hall and an IKEA Café area, designed as a meeting space for visitors. The new IKEA store offers a range of 9,200 furniture products and accessories with functional design.

The opening of the IKEA Pallady store is scheduled for end of summer 2018 and will bring 300 new jobs.

The new store will double IKEA capacity to take online orders for the customers in Romania. Moreover, a Customer Service Center, designed to respond to customers across the country, will be integrated into the store. IKEA invests EUR 86 million (total value of land and construction) in the second store in Bucharest.
