IKEA to open Pallady store on June 24

Swedish furniture retailer IKEA has announced today that its second store in Romania, located on Theodor Pallady Blvd in Bucharest will be opened on June 24. IKEA Pallady will the the largest IKEA store in Southeastern Europe.

The 37,000-sqm store will provide almost 10,000 products reflecting the IKEA philosophy, combing shape, functionality, quality, sustainability and low pricing.

The Pallady store will also have three patterns of complete interior design and 58 rooms based on knowledge of the Romanians’ houses, satisfying the local needs on furnishing the house with accessible items.

The store will also host a playground for children and the already famous IKEA restaurant.

Besides those over 500 jobs prompted during construction works, 600 employees will be part of the team of the new store.

“After excellent construction progress in the past few months, I am thrilled to confirm that we will open the store on June 24 and bring our vision of creating a better everyday life to many more people in Romania. Besides furnishing our store, we have finished recruiting our co-workers who will be ready to welcome all our guests and customers for the long-awaited opening,” noted Cas Lachaert, Store Manager.

The total value of investment mounted to almost EUR 90 million.
