The region’s most important business and tech event of the year is coming to Bucharest. Impact Bucharest presented by Mastercard is scheduled to take place on October 23-24th 2024, at the Face Convention Center – and the first speakers have already been announced!
Impact conferences have been organized in Central Eastern Europe since 2016 and in just 8 years have become the most important annual gathering of industry leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators and visionaries in this part of the world. Now it’s time to grow and expand – that’s why Impact will hold its 2nd edition in 2024 in Bucharest, Romania.
“Impact is one of the most important and recognizable events in this part of Europe. It stands out because of its international reach, the wide
range of renowned experts in attendance and number of different issues it addresses as well as an atmosphere and innovative spirit that
is second to none. At Impact, global leaders gather to discuss the latest trends as well as challenges and explore innovative solutions. It
serves as a hub for exchanging experiences and fostering connections. We are excited that Bucharest will host the second edition of Impact in
2024,” said Krystian Wolak, Founder, Impact Conference.
Insightful and inspirational speakers have long been a trademark of Impact conferences and Impact Bucharest will be no exception. Two
huge names have already been announced – Nando Parrado and Chris Bailey.
Nando Parrado is a survivor & hero of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571. A New York Times best-selling author who has been portrayed in the 2023 Oscar-Nominated film “Society of the Snow” – his story of survival, resilience, and determination in the Andes is something every business and political leader can learn from.
Chris Bailey, on the other hand, is a productivity expert, best-selling author and one of the most watched TED speakers of all time. His famous book “Hyperfocus” is about discovering and learning to function more effectively by achieving a state of super-focus. He also teaches people how to work less but work smarter. These two names are just the beginning of a lineup that will feature +200 international speakers.
In total, Impact Bucharest promises to gather +1000 attendees including +100 startups, +300 region’s top companies & +100 media representatives.
The event will be a platform used to identify and analyze the strategic decisions that will define the future of everything – from finance, commerce and marketing to energy, urban development, and healthcare – with a special focus on promoting and achieving greater sustainability in every sector of the economy.
“Impact is essential. It brings together a community of like-minded people who share the same goodwill and good faith approach and are trying to grapple with an imperfect world. We need to work together to solve our problems. And the only way to do that is to forge ties like these. A conference like this is for everyone. It’s not simply for entrepreneurs, investors, or business people. All of society needs to be together on this.
And that means that we not only need policymakers and regulators, but also citizens and activist groups. Everyone needs a seat at the table because we can only solve our problems together,” stated Kenneth Cukier, Deputy Executive Editor, The Economist.
Key theme will focus on business as well as innovation and how connecting local, regional and broader global ecosystems will benefit Romania and the SEE region. The agenda has been divided into 9 thematic tracks which address the biggest current economic and social challenges in areas such as Defense & Cybersecurity, Green Economy, Digital Future, Startups, Urban Next, Global Economy & Banking, Leadership, Health, Marketing & Digital Consumer.
„First of all, the energy, it’s buzzing. And the variety. For example, there haven’t been many business conferences that have tracks about culture, mental health, geopolitics, technology, and business…all in one place. It’s an absolute feast for the mind,” pointed out Esther Perel, Psychotherapist and New York Times bestselling author.
One of the main objectives of Impact Bucharest is accelerating innovation by connecting business & tech leaders, startups, major
corporations, and investors – that’s why the event features several formal (i.e. the Impact Arena Startup Competition, Workshops, Roundtable Discussions) and informal (i.e. Impact Networking Cocktail) activities.
“Well, Impact it is so much more than a conference. It’s really a festival of ideas. It’s an opportunity to bring people together from all over the world to talk about how to be a force for good, how to make a positive impact on the world. And so, I look forward to it,” said Valerie Jarrett, Chief Executive Officer, Member of the Board of Directors, Obama Foundation.
